The place was very nice: most rooms had their own bathrooms, plenty of natural light, and a lovely terrace. The door was a bit difficult to open—you have to push it firmly. But overall, a wonderful place. The location is excellent: close to downtown, with Canal Street providing convenient access. George's place was exactly what we needed on our stay in New Orleans while waiting to get on a cruise. There were 10 of us and it has 5 Queen Bedrooms with bathrooms attached to all. It is on Canal St, so there is some noise, but not overwhelming. Waffle House across the street, Mini Mart a couple of spots down, and Trolley access in front of the house. Very easy to get around! It could use a little more seating in the main room to accommodate 10 people, but we made do with the kitchen table. Great spot for a large group! Our group of 8 enjoyed our stay.! The home is on the 2nd floor (a flight of stairs outside), right in front of the trolley line (Canal/Tonti) used a 3 day Jazzy RTA pass. Trader Joe's and Waffle House (and other local markets) in walking distance (try Dough Nguyener’s/yum!) The Blazin' Hot Chicken next door was Hot!! The balcony facing Canal was a beautiful space to gather. The rooms were perfect-comfy beds (just one room was hot for some reason), esp with a bathroom each. Could use a few more dining room chairs, and holes in the wall of living/dining room (old electr(?), though we made everything work and had a wonderful time with friends and family. Thank you, George for hosting! The layout was great 5 bedrooms/5 baths for our group 3 couples and 2 singles. The balcony on Canal Street was a great place to relax and have coffee in the morning. The trolly stop right in front on Canal Street was so convenient. I would not walk to the casino, river, or the French Quarter. It’s about 1.5 miles minimum, but through some sketchy areas until you get on the other side of I-10. There were some things with the house that needed attention and we passed that on to George.
